Bringing light to the Mountain

Nowhere to Be Found is a series of works which deals with the fragility of our system towards nature and how we deal and commodify it. In this video I hired a whole village in the Guyana Highland to produce my main work, which is to stage mountains at night with movie lights. The village people where hired to carry to the foothill of the Acupan Tepuis. As I filmed this process I rerun well known images distributed thru media, news and movies all linked to recent and actual colonial process or utilizing cheap labor. Exploitation much like in works of Josef Conrad or Werner Herzog's Aguirre the warth of god, is once again recycled to create a media spectacle.
