Going to my expedition to Ilullisat in Greenland, there was an long and ongoing study process about the historical commercial and political exploitation of the arctic, the races to unknown territory, and the fabled speculation of the findings. Private man and glorious empire where looking for shortcuts, show of power and putting there flag into the last uninhabited places of earth. Fast forwarding to our contemporary explorer we find them racing to the north and south pol, to see the last ice melting, to take a picture, or a postcard from the disaster, getting involved in a disaster or simply creating one. The spectacle is not to experience but rather to document and share it over the internet.
